Q: Are we still a sole distributor and member of the Knauf franchise group?
A: No we are not, however we used to be. PMC is now a proud independent distributor who believes in sourcing the best products at competitive prices from a wide range of manufacturers. This includes quality products from the entire Knauf range, along with Siniat, CSR and more.

Q: Where do you deliver to?
A: Our immediate delivery area is within 4 hours drive from Cairns. We regularly supply materials to Townsville, Mackay and Whitsunday region. We do also pack and ship products all around Australia including the Torres Strait Islands and Papua New Guinea. If you are concerned about cost of shipping please let us know where you are based and what your project involves. We have the ability to deliver direct to site from most major cities around Australia. For international requests please contact our store directly.

Q: What is Plaster Metal Cladding?
A: That is our new business name. We are still the same company and same staff you were dealing with when we were named PlastaMasta. We felt the name directly represents the 3 core products we well. Plasterboard & Plaster associated products, Metal Framing and various types of Fibre cement, timber and metal cladding.

Q: Why Can’t I order plasterboard online?
A: You Can! We have a special order page for plasterboard located here.
Unfortunately plasterboard and sheet deliveries can be difficult for online systems to price accurately – to quote correctly we need to know all the information about your delivery and can then price you accordingly.

Q: Why does the price keep going up all the time?
A: Manufacturers will normally announce annual price increases to keep in line with CPI and other associated increasing costs. In particular Gas, Electricity, the value of the Australian Dollar and import tariffs play a large part in how expensive Plasterboard, Fibre cement and metal products are. Whilst quite a few products we sell are made in Australia, many of them use imported components or ingredients.

Q: Why should I buy from PMC when I can buy direct?
A: We believe we offer a service that many projects require. A logistics & supply partner. Yes in many cases you can order direct from some of our suppliers. You would then have to work out how to get your product here, what accessories need to be ordered with it, have the facility to unload (usually by forklift),store the product until it is required (usually under cover), deal with any damage that occurs, warranty claims, and then finally deal with any under or over ordering. If you order from PMC that’s just part of the service you’re paying for.

Q: What products do you actually stock?
A: Our primary products are Plasterboard Sheeting, plasterboard cornices 7 compounds, Fibre cement sheeting (cladding) and light weight metal framing systems for internal walls & ceilings. We also carry a small range of timber framing, timber cladding/linings (including VJ Panel), acoustic linings, insulation, mineral fibre ceiling tiles, fasteners & tools. Specialty timbers/battens and aluminium/metal cladding is generally required in a colour and as such is ordered in on demand.
